About Dr. Jonathan Whitfield, MDOur office is in Encino and is currently taking new patients. While Dr. Whitfield works with people of all ages, he specializes in Child and Adolescent psychiatric disorders, ADHD, Autistic spectrum disorders, and Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Whitfield moved to Los Angeles in 1997, after graduating from Medical School at the University of Chicago, to complete his General Psychiatry residency training at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center. He was then fortunate enough to be accepted into the Fellowship Programs in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which he completed in 2003, and in Substance Abuse, which he completed in 2004. Currently, Dr. Whitfield is working as the full-time Medical Director for the Phoenix House Academy - Lake View Terrace residential center for adolescents, a California branch of the Phoenix House, a world-renowned organization for the treatment of substance abuse and mental health disorders. In January, 2008, Dr. Whitfield began to build his private practice working with adolescents as well as adults, young children and their families. He has time specifically carved out of his schedule on Monday mornings before 12pm to see patients, and in order to accommodate school and work schedules he is also available evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and on weekends by special arrangement for urgent situations. |
